A few other items to note:
- We like to shoot newborn sessions within the first few weeks of baby's life, while baby is still in that sweet, sleepy stage and can be posed most naturally. With newborn sessions, we schedule a tentative appointment based on your due date, and then ask parents to contact us for a firm date, after baby is born.
- Studio sessions are a traditional posed newborn sessions and are offered on weekdays at 10am. Depending on how well baby settles, newborn sessions last anywhere from 1-3 hours, and include posed photos of baby and can also include photos of baby with immediate family.
- We have a full collection of newborn props at our studio, and there is nothing you need to provide for your session. Our studio is stocked with everything for newborns including: headbands, wraps, blankets, baskets and bowls. We also have a client closet with dresses for mom and some clothing options for young siblings.
- You can see by looking at our work that we don't over stylize or have prominent themes in my newborn sessions. We offer more of a subject focused session with props like baskets and bowls that help give your session character. Simple embellishments like textured layers and greenery are used to enhance your images. We also have a variety of colored papers and barn wood backdrops.
- $100 NON-REFUNDABLE RETAINER DUE AT TIME OF BOOKING, WITH REMAINING SESSION BALANCE DUE THE DATE OF YOUR SCHEDULED SHOOT.

Q:When should i schedule my newborn session?

Most clients get on the schedule for a newborn session during their 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

Q: Where are you located?
A: Studio sessions take place at our private, natural light studio in Des Moines. We are located among the artists at Mainframe Studios at 900 Keosaqua Way which is located just off I-235 and next to Methodist Medical Center. Covered parking is available and the studio is both handicapped and stroller accessible. Sessions are by appointment only.
